Training

The Lincoln offers the postgraduate part-time training programmes described below. For more detailed information and the training prospectus, contact the Training Administrator at the Lincoln office.

The seminars for these training programmes take place in North and South London.

Psychotherapy Training

  • The Qualifying Course (QC) is a full training which leads to the professional qualification of Adult Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist, Membership of the Lincoln Centre and registration with the British Psychoanalytic Council.

  • The Modified Entry Scheme (MES) has been designed with two groups in mind: experienced psychoanalytic psychotherapists who are not BPC registrants, and qualified child psychotherapists. This course leads to Membership of the Lincoln. Depending on their training and experience, applicants may be required to undertake top-up courses - for example, an infant observation - where appropriate.

  • The Post-Qualification Course (PQC) is an advanced training for qualified adult and child psychotherapists. Successful candidates may apply to become Advanced Lincoln Psychotherapists (ALP).

Applicants who are unsure which course to apply to may request an informal meeting with a Committee member by writing with a CV to the Training Administrator. An administrative charge is made.

Equal Opportunities Policy

As in other areas of its institutional practice, the Lincoln Centre's selection criteria for each of its courses are made in line with Equal Opportunities Legislation. The Lincoln aims to foster the principle of non-discrimination on grounds of gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion and ethnic origin. Selection procedures vary according to the requirements of particular courses and we consider applicants in the context of experience and personal readiness for the specific course to which application is made. All those serving on selection panels and training programmes on behalf of the Lincoln adhere to this policy.
